  ROYAL VISIT FOR WEST SUSSEX

HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh will be visiting West Sussex on Friday 26 March 1999.

First stop in the county will be Durrington High School, Worthing. As well as touring the school and seeing pupils at work, The Queen and The Duke will be meeting people from all walks of life in the county, including business, the voluntary sector, emergency services, education, social services and health. There will be displays on specific projects from those sectors.

After lunch The Queen and The Duke will depart for Burgess Hill. They will be visiting the Help Point in Burgess Hill Town Council Offices in Church Walk. This initiative is supported by West Sussex County Council and Mid Sussex District Council, as well as the Town Council. During their tour The Queen and The Duke will see a Web Site demonstration, video-conferencing link and learn about the local Youth Information Centre.

They will then move on to The Triangle, the new Leisure Centre in Burgess Hill, where The Queen will be performing the official opening ceremony. Before the opening ceremony there will be a tea party attended by representatives from the local community. After seeing demonstrations of various sports played at the Centre, The Queen and The Duke will leave West Sussex.
